Guest Lecturer Julie Ritson
Julie Ritson MBE is a former BBC News camerawoman with 36 years' experience covering global conflicts from the troubles in Northern Ireland, Afghanistan after 9/11, the 2003 Iraq invasion to Ukraine.
A specialist in frontline reporting and military embeds, she also trained the next generation of camera crews.
Awarded an MBE in 2026, she was the first female broadcast news camerawoman to receive this honour.
